USACE – Philadelphia District – Philadelphia Navy Shipyard Flood Reduction Project – waterways/canals

Inspection and repair of (400) non-bearing timber piles supporting the seawall. All repairs consisted of installing structural grade timber shims between the non-bearing piles and timber whalers. The shims were pre-drilled and nailed into the pile cap. All work was performed by barge during tidal variations on the Delaware River.
